Episode 22:

Vash and Wolfwood, along with Meryl and Milly discover a group of orphans living
alone. They, nor anyone else for that matter, are allowed to enter the nearest city. As they
stay with the orphans the people from the city emerge looking for Vash. The Stampede goes out
to meet them so they'll stop shooting at the children. While Vash pleads with them huge
sandworms attack. Everyone fleas into the city where the worm's attack continues. Vash
discovers that a device attached to one of the kid's ears is being used to control the worms.
The kid turns out to be a Gung Ho Gun: Zaize the Beast. He disarms Vash and prepares to kill
him. Meryl begins to talk him down along with Vash and are seemingly doing a good job when
Wolfwood kills the kid with a shot from his cross gun. He and Vash exchange some tense words
over the incident and Wolfwood walks off.
