Episode 5: Chain of Command
The Maximals have discovered an alignment of standing stones. They form some
type of symbol, indicating they are not natural. The area also seems to contain a good bit of
energon. The Preds show up hoping to take the energon, but end up destroying it instead. Just
when the energon is about to explode it sends a signal into space. Later, the Maximals detect
something heading for the standing stones. It turns out to be a pod of some sort. Optimus and
Dinobot scout the pod, as do the Predacons. The pod emits an energon discharge, disabling
everyone there. Optimus is seemingly vaporized. When Dinobot awakens inside the base the
Maximals try to decide who will be the new leader. Optimus contacts them while this is going
on. His body is being stored inside the pod. He declares Rattrap the leader. The Maximals
soon return to the pod hoping to extract Optimus. The Preds also show up and a battle ensues.
The pod soon unleashes Optimus, who turns the tide in favor of the Maximals. The Preds leave,
and the pod disappears. All that is left is more questions.
