Bio: Pilot of EVA-00. First Child. Classmate of Shinji, Rei is always alone and does not talk to anyone. Treats Ikari Gendou like a fatherly figure who she speaks to the most. She seems to be unconcerned about her life and doesn't like Shinji at first.

Name: Asuka Langley
Bio: Pilot of EVA-02. Second Child. Another of the 14 year olds who are able to pilot the EVAs. She stays with Shinji and Misato and was trained in Germany. her EVA is the first real one as the previous ones were prototypes. She likes to pick on Shinji and also dislikes Rei. She also has a strong sense of pride.

Name: Ikari Shinji
Bio: Pilot of EVA-01. Third Child. Child of Ikari Gendou. Hasn't lived with his father since young, he decides to pilot the EVA to impress his father so that he will praise him. He is quiet and has low self esteem. He believes that his life is of no value. He lives with Misato and has few times debated about not piloting EVA anymore.

Name: Misato Katsuragi
Bio: Chief Of Operations at NERV, the organization set up to fight the Angels. She offers to let Shinji stay with her and has a cheerful personality, thus affecting Shinji in a good way. She drinks a lot of beer. her father died saving her from the Second Impact and she didn't talk for two years.

Name: Ikari Gendou
Bio: Father of Shinji and commander of NERV. Does not talk much to his son. Burnt his hands while saving Rei during a EVA test. Never thinks twice making decisions and treats Shinji like a tool against the Angels.

Bio:Technical expert at NERV. Her mother designed the 3 Magi systems at NERV.

Name: Nagisa Kaworu
Bio: Fifth Child. Last and 17th Angel. Became close to Shinji before revealing himself as the last angel. Shinji killed him reluctantly.

Name: Touji Suzuhara
Bio:Pilot of EVA-03. Fourth Child. Classmate and friend of Shinji's. When Shinji first piloted EVA, his sister was injured during the battle and he beats him up. Later Shinji saved him and he also saw how painful it was to pilot EVA. He becomes Shinji's good friend.

Bio:Came from Germany with Asuka to spy on and find out the truth about NERV. Knows Ritsuko and Misato and was Misato's ex-boyfriend.

Bio:Vice commander at NERV. Disliked Ikari Gendou at first but Gendou's wife, Yui convinced him of the Evangelion Project.
